4th of July Outfit – What I Wore Wednesday

What I Wore Wednesday is a fun link up party over at the blog, The Pleated Poppy.  We’ve participated in it once before and when we feel the inspiration I am sure we’ll do it again.   Tonight, I was inspired by the outfit I just picked up from Old Navy a few hours ago.

Shopping Old Navy around this time of year is a regular habit for me.  I like to grab some festive tees and dresses for my gang.  For the past several years we have celebrated the 4th in Colorado with my husband’s sister and family.  We take our kids from the suburbs and let them go wild in the west climbing hay bales, shooting guns, 4 wheeling, boating and fishing.  After about an hour and at least one margarita and under the shadow of the Grand Mesa I loose tract of my suburban ways, the time, my kids and their bath schedules (does swimming count?) and my to do list and find myself relaxing and enjoying the simple things in life, our kids, campfires and family.

The fact is this this Old Navy outfit is a little bit more city than country, but it was too fun to pass on.  (And, I’ll bring cutoffs to change into.)  Here’s the down low:  Skirt reg.$29.94 on sale for $20.58 – Tank $5.00 on sale for $3.57.  So, total outfit was around $25.  Husband pointer (free of charge) do not tell your wife she looks like a flag.  I prefer to call this look “flag festive”.  So, here’s your 4th of July outfit inspiration ~ for What I Wore Wednesday.

*Old Navy did not sponsor this post – ya that bums me out too.  Flag festive inspiration – all mine!

  1. You look adorable! Yes, swimming counts (at least while school is out). I love ON… they have the best sales. I’m in Ocean City for a few days with my crew and am outlet shopping today. The ON store is definitely on my list.

  2. Love it! So fresh and festive! Remember when you dressed our cute little girls in red, white, and blue dresses complete with braids and hair ribbons? Have a happy 4th of July!

  3. I saw this skirt and loved it but didn’t know what to pair it with! Nice choice, even for after the holiday with a burnt orange tank!

  4. I’ve been on vacation too. Love the festive outfit. Nothing like Old Navy to have just what you need for any holiday. Enjoy your trip! -Laverne from Kindred Adventures
