Thanks Aunt Bonnie for stopping by and sharing that. I agree. I know if we couldn’t prepare food for our friends and family, it would be a death of sorts.
Love you!

She loved making him happy with that. I do miss those idnners and I know she does too. I think when she couldnt make meals for everyone, a little part of her died.

It sounds great, and my family is getting really bored with the chicken I have been making lately.

Love seeing your referance to Gramma Betty! As The fruit salad was one of my annual favorites growing up just thought I’d mention the ‘original recipe” My sisters (your Aunts: Bonnie, Liz and Sarah and I) would be in chrage of prepping the fruit… We would prep bananas, grapefruit, oranges, apples, grapes and once in a while marchiano (sp?) cherries. Once prepped Mom would mix it all together with fresh wipped whipping cream into a huge bowl… I always thought this alone would be enough for Thanksgiving… forget the Turkey, mashed potatoes, peas, fresh rolls, etc… Was always a fun annual event to prep the fruit salad!

Along with a spinach salad, it was the perfect combo of home-cooked goodness and crunchy green! And, the fact that it came from the heart and the home of my dear friend..it’s just what one tired mama home with baby number three needed! It is one of my favorite food memories! The right food at the right time!! And, shared with the right people! :)
