It is the traditional Christmas morning treat in his family. (Grandma was the first born in US to Danish immigrants.)

The tradition also followed that he and his twin (born Dec. 26th) would eat their age in aebleskivers. Got to be a challenge when they got to about 12! The wedding gift is an aebleskiver pan–to enjoy at home and help with breakfast on Christmas. :_)
