Valentine Treats To Savor With Tea

Taking time to savor the moment with a pot or cup of tea has always been something I have enjoyed in my day. Over the years, I have enjoyed the preparation of putting out a proper cup of tea for friends, with fancy favorite dishes and small bites. Sometimes I just pop a mug, quick in the microwave to make a single cup to enjoy by myself. My family has learned I rarely make something warm to drink without a nibble on the side. They have also learned to enjoy the nurturing moments of a warm cup and a moment to chat. The … [Read more...]

Fancy Friday Halloween Party

Be on the look out for "Fierce Bunnies".  You never know where they might be lurking.  Every year we host a pre-trick-or-treating Halloween party.  There will be some critters and fierce bunnies lurking around our Teen Halloween Party - again this year again. It took a few tries to get the "iron out the water stain" method to work, but here's what worked for me. *Take a thin (I used an old … [Read more...]

Velvet Pumpkin Center Piece

Chris Ann had seen these beauties in real life. She's the one who discovered them and she even brought a few home.   I had pumpkin envy.  But, to be honest, it didn't last for long!  I ordered my own set.  I went a little "non-traditional" to match my newly (in process of) remodeled dining room. As some of you know, we have been in the midst of a major renovation after our flood.  Because my life has been in renovation mode, my design bug has been in hibernation mode.  I didn't plant a single mum...or even make my front … [Read more...]

Cinnamon Bread Challenge!

A couple of months ago, as I was visiting Honey and Jam's blog, my eyes fell on a Cinnamon Swirl Bread recipe and it caused me to pause...to salivate...to dream and plan ('cause sometimes it take a bit of planning to make bread with my crazy schedule).  Yes, it took me a couple of months to slide it in, but boy am I (and my family!!) glad I did!  If you've never attempted to make a loaf of homemade cinnamon bread, I encourage you to try!  Making bread sounds daunting to many, but once you get the hang of it, it really is easy and … [Read more...]
