Glitterized Phone Charger DIY Project

MainFaceBookCharger

Every chargeable item in our home comes of course, with a charger.  But, with 6 members in our family the charger chaos is huge.  Someone anyone is apt to snatch someone's charger accidentally.  My teenage daughter and her friends, dealing with the same problem at sleepovers and such, decided to take these matters into their own hands.  I came home one day last week to find that they were solving the problem by glitterizing their chargers.  This is a great and purposeful DIY craft project for kids, teens and anyone who want … [Read more...]

Style For Thanksgiving

c590x557

Today we're featuring a Thanksgiving style post by our friend and practical fashionista Megan Cobb of FriedOkra. Thanksgiving evokes such a feeling of cozy togetherness, doesn't it? It's also the holiday that just seems to demand a nod to our rustic history. To capture both rustic and cozy, with a touch of celebratory elegance, I've created a look here that combines a bold but warm and comfy pieced Fair Isle sweater (Anthropologie) with a simple, classic camel wool pencil skirt (J. Crew) and added touches of color and … [Read more...]

How To Create Handmade Painted Bobby Pins

Bobbi Pin Feature

Back in the day when Kristin and I were raising our little people, I was know for whipping up craft projects for my kids.  I was a former middle school art teacher and I always had plenty of feathers, glitter, gem stones, glue and construction paper around.  There were afternoons Kristin would come over with her kids in tow, to find me and my kids at the kitchen table with a confetti burst of collage materials covering the floor all around us.  "How are you going to get this cleaned up!?" she'd gasp!  We have many a story … [Read more...]

Beautiful Lady ~ Dress For The Day

Mom Feature

We can multitask several children fed, dressed, lunches made, hair combed and out the door in less than 45 minutes. Have you ever wondered why it takes so much effort to get ourselves ready to go out the door?  Because, it just plain takes some effort.  Lately I have been trying to put a little bit of extra effort into getting "Dress For The Day".  Funny thing is I had already started this effort, when one of my friends, blogger, started this weekly link up of inspiration to encourage us all to put in that extra effort.  I … [Read more...]

PARENT ‘HOOD~Mama Bags with Style

056

When my babies were young, it was a Pre Etsy Era. I hunted high and low for a unique and creative diaper bag to carry. I think I ended up with something black because that was the closest thing to keeping me modern and hip. The alternatives were bags with baby prints on them...seriously?! What were manufacturers thinking? Recently, I was with a good friend, Ashleigh Baker. She was rocking a diaper bag that made me almost, swoon for a do-over. Ok, her bag and her babe! Oh my, I could have eaten him up! Not to mention she … [Read more...]

A Vintage Americana Outfit

399

I was out thrifting with Ashley from Our Daily Chocolate. She encouraged me to buy these: To be totally theme on at my son's Vintage Americana Graduation Party. They were $2.90. Then I found this red and white gingham blouse a few days later, for $3. Now, if I can add one of these denim capris to the number, I think I'll be in business.   A little punch of color...         Or for fun, I could add this and the look would take me all the way to the 4th of July. Now, I wonder what Chris Ann … [Read more...]

Over the last couple of weeks Kristin and I have savored some Motherhood Moments.  Kristin's oldest son, a senior is graduating from high school in the next couple of weeks.  She just saw him off to on a final school trip abroad.  It seems just yesterday our firstborns were turning 16!  You can see how we celebrated during the LoveFeast For 16 Year Old Boys Birthday Party we threw a couple of years ago.  Kristin is finishing up her homeschooling year and planning the Graduation Party.   I'm getting ready for my kids to get … [Read more...]
