London Shopping At Hoss Intropia

boutique1(1)

A couple of months ago I accompanied my husband on a business trip to London.  While he was in meetings I wandered the cobblestone streets around Covent Garden.  The coffee shops, street fashion (lots of plumb, textured black tights and fur) and boutiques brightened my creative spirit even though the weather was similar to our Minnesota chill.  A little down the street after stopping in the flagship Barbour store, which I absolutely had to do since, Kristin's sister-n-law designs their women and children lines I wandered into … [Read more...]

Style For Thanksgiving

c590x557

Today we're featuring a Thanksgiving style post by our friend and practical fashionista Megan Cobb of FriedOkra. Thanksgiving evokes such a feeling of cozy togetherness, doesn't it? It's also the holiday that just seems to demand a nod to our rustic history. To capture both rustic and cozy, with a touch of celebratory elegance, I've created a look here that combines a bold but warm and comfy pieced Fair Isle sweater (Anthropologie) with a simple, classic camel wool pencil skirt (J. Crew) and added touches of color and … [Read more...]

When Your Dress Inspires Your Table

150

I had been traveling the prior two weeks. I was exhausted. So for a couple of days, I had a hard time venturing out of my yoga pants. But, I can only handle that type of dress for a few days. You see, being a home-school mom, I make it a point to get up, get dressed and put make up on, even if my day keeps me home bound. A good friend of ours, Abby Leigh, started a link up on Wednesdays, "Dress for the Day You Want to Have." I'm a firm believer in taking the time to be "dressed"...to put on a bit of make up...do you hair, even … [Read more...]

Beautiful Lady ~ Dress For The Day

Mom Feature

We can multitask several children fed, dressed, lunches made, hair combed and out the door in less than 45 minutes. Have you ever wondered why it takes so much effort to get ourselves ready to go out the door?  Because, it just plain takes some effort.  Lately I have been trying to put a little bit of extra effort into getting "Dress For The Day".  Funny thing is I had already started this effort, when one of my friends, blogger, started this weekly link up of inspiration to encourage us all to put in that extra effort.  I … [Read more...]

A Vintage Americana Outfit

399

I was out thrifting with Ashley from Our Daily Chocolate. She encouraged me to buy these: To be totally theme on at my son's Vintage Americana Graduation Party. They were $2.90. Then I found this red and white gingham blouse a few days later, for $3. Now, if I can add one of these denim capris to the number, I think I'll be in business.   A little punch of color...         Or for fun, I could add this and the look would take me all the way to the 4th of July. Now, I wonder what Chris Ann … [Read more...]

Over the last couple of weeks Kristin and I have savored some Motherhood Moments.  Kristin's oldest son, a senior is graduating from high school in the next couple of weeks.  She just saw him off to on a final school trip abroad.  It seems just yesterday our firstborns were turning 16!  You can see how we celebrated during the LoveFeast For 16 Year Old Boys Birthday Party we threw a couple of years ago.  Kristin is finishing up her homeschooling year and planning the Graduation Party.   I'm getting ready for my kids to get … [Read more...]

Summer Maxi Sundress Dresses

Sundress Me

This is me and my 4 kids over Spring Break in Mexico a couple of months ago.  It was there I realized how handy a maxi sundress is.  I was cool on top and as the sun set, my legs were covered keeping me cozy as my husband and I relaxed back sipping our drinks and watching our kids stroll the desserts for the third time each.  That's what vacation is all about. As a busy mama with 4 kids, a go-to look is a necessity.  Right now, I am in love with stripes and color and sundresses, specifically the maxi sundress.  … [Read more...]
