I love scones but I have been too intimidated to attempt making them myself. While I generally do a fair job with cooking up top, baking continues to elude my skills.

I love the tip about blending hot cocoa!! Now that, I can do.

let’s see…when i have cabin fever, although i am rarely snowed in, i would probably snuggle under the down comforter and take the time to write blogs and search craigslist for cool vintage stuff. in the meantime, a dessert-ish hot drink is also necessary and so i would add steamed milk with a bit of foam to my encouraging hot chocolate!

Cabin Fever!!!! Um…I haven’t been out of the house since SUNDAY!!!! Had I known that I would be snowed in like this, I would have made a point to get out Monday! This morning though I did make pancakes for my sons and my sons friend. I never make them the same twice. This time I used the pancake mix, added honey, cinnamon, and some hot chocolate mix from williams sonoma! They were YUMMY! Just today I fixed my son a cup of cheapo out of the box hot chocolate, nothing special…and he told me it was the BEST hot chocolate he had ever had! I think it was because he had been out playing in the snow. ;o) Anyhoo…if I had the Godiva Hot cocoa mix I would use the frother on my coffee machine to make it extra fluffy then probably just top it off with some whipped cream, or add some vanilla…or cinnamon..or all 3!

well, warm fuzzy alpaca socks, a ravensburger puzzle, music, wine, good bread (make it yourself if you have to), cheese, spiced nuts, husband is his fuzzy alpaca socks, and when they eyes hurt from the puzzle, sit in front of the fire together, music and hot chocolate with no marshmallows, dark, not too sweet and extra hot!
