As you know every Friday we post about what inspires us. We started Fancy Friday because we wanted a place to express and rejuvenate our artistic senses. We get inspired from colors, textures, experiences, adventure, food, spices, and travel. We also get inspired by hearing about what inspires others. Today’s first guest blogger for a Fancy Friday is Laura, from the Hollywood Housewife blog. After chatting with her in our virtual world of blogging and Twitter, we finally caught up with her in the real world at Blissdom, the blogging conference Chris Ann recently attended. We know you will enjoy what she has to share about what’s “fancy” in her Hollywood home. I am drawn to fancy. I’ve been chasing the glitter since I was a little girl. This led me from a small town in Oklahoma to the sparkly lights of Los Angeles, and I’ve never looked back. (That’s not true. I look back all the time. But Los Angeles does achieve all levels of Fancy.) Naturally, I appreciate high drama in a home. I’ve filled our 1920′s abode in the Hollywood hills with things that make me smile. Things that are a little unexpected. Like the red flocked wallpaper in the bathroom off the kitchen. I was inspired by the wallpaper at a Mexican food restaurant and I couldn’t get it out of my head. So I found something similar at Walnut Wallpaper.

Great wallpaper! I don’t know why I haven’t been brave enough to try wallpaper in our home yet. Some of it is do beautiful.
The bathroom wallpaper is beautiful! The rest of the photos on the page are not visible, sadly. I’ve tried reloading the page, etc to no avail. Anyone having difficulty viewing the photos?
same problem here….
Ahhh! We’re back in action and finally got our photos up & feeling fancy again!!
The wallpaper is not only vibrant and fun, it’s very classy!
I firmly believe that you should use your fancy things.
Absolutely!
Loved this peek inside your home!
Oh, how I love the sparkle and the unexpected in your pictures! Your pictures just make me want to see MORE of your house!
I love the look of the stripes on the ceiling, but having painted a ceiling just ONE color, I know that I do not have the patience and stamina required for the effect you have created. Kudos on that and all of the beauty in your home!
One thing I love from the little peeks I’ve seen inside your home is that it is a perfect blend of you and your husband. Very cool, very exotic stuff, but all done so tastefully. (too bad that shots from the now-extinct Tiki Room didn’t make the cut for this post.)
Thank you everyone for your kind comments. I am such a sucker for Fancy, especially in the home.
(who am I kidding? I am a sucker for fancy ANYwhere!)
