My kitchen is my favorite room in my house. It is full of things that make me happy. Like a little hand painted bowl my mom brought back from Spain.
A hand made flower that I received in the mail from a friend (Chris Ann to be exact!) Hand painted tiles from my daughter.
A beautiful dish our friend from Morocco gave to us. We shared a lamb and cous cous dish, his mother prepared for us, off of this plate.
My knobs!
A vintage plaque that reminds me to give thanks for all things. A little ornament I found in Florence.
A vintage creamer that cost $1.19.
My drawer of coffee mugs that all tell a story.
Containers that are are full of possibilities.
My daily inspiration…Americano served in my mug and espresso served in his!
The kitchen aid, that really is a member of the family.
Even my dish washing station, is a happy place.
The colors on this plate, the staining around the edges…ahhh…let’s just say, it’s my favorite.
My paintbrushes just waiting to be picked up! My Anthropologie dishtowels turned curtains.
A medicine cabinet pretending to be a spice rack. My olive oil jar from Tuscany.
Hand made and well worn, pot holders. They make me smile every time I use them.
Flea market finds.
The people in my life.
What is your favorite room?

How cute! Do you ever go to the antique stores in Buffalo? I love those knobs!
When we remodeled our kitchen a few years ago, I decided to keep the counters clear and stash everything in cupboards and drawers. But then I realized my kitchen no longer felt like my happy place. So, gradually all the important little things that make me smile (ie. the bottom of an old cookie jar a friend gave me when she moved away. I’ve got wooden tools in it now. And, the old wooden shoe stretcher my mom used for holding a recipe card.)came out to the counter-tops. Now my kitchen is my happy place once again. Thanks for sharing photos of your favorite room. They make me smile.
I feel right at home with the tour of your kitchen. It’s gorgeous, and full of life. Thanks for sharing
my favorite room? uh…any room in YOUR house!
I love that mug drawer…but love the mug on the breville best. Ummmmm….is our pic just a bit further down that fridge? My favourite room…is in your house. Oops, just read Lauras comment…theres room for all of us, Right?
Going to the occasional sales in Buffalo is on my list, but haven’t gotten there yet! The knobs in Kristin’s kitchen are from Anthropology if I remember!! -Chris Ann
I love your kitchen… it is full of memories and items that have lots of history
Just yesterday I was thinking that our house is too cold, not personal enough… because we are always thinking it is not our house, just renting, we will make our house in the future the way we want to. It’s high time to change it and make it warmer… more like real home, even through it just temporary place
