And while your thinking gifts ~ here’s a little bit of Gift Wrapping Inspiration and tips!

Gift wrapping has always been one of my creative outlets – you could say hobbies.  Scraps of paper, pieces of fabric and ribbon - make me happy and all the possibilities of their potential – give me a little of a high.  Over the years I have worked hard to coral all my creative bits with ways of organizing.  Back in the day – my ribbon spools got away from me!  You can read all about when Kristin came to my creative rescue, her husband made us the best meal ever and some tips for organizing gift wrapping ~ especially around the holidays ~ HERE.

Tips for Gift Wrapping Inspiration:

l.  Gather beautiful cards, ribbon, papers and gift wrap.

2.  After the gift wrap think of building the decorative pieces for depth and beauty.  Think layers.

3.  Use “found” items for interesting scraps of textures such as pieces of box, metal, newsprint, leather, string etc.

4.  Mix patterns, styles, and textures.  Leather with shiny.  Wood grain with satin.  Opposites attract and add interest.

5.  Add personal touch, card, or whimsical greeting.

I would surely (most definitely) give it to me!!
I still grab a piece of newspaper from time to time for old fashioned wrapping look. Love the burlap – cannot wait to try it!

    I tweeted too!

  3. I have to admit I would gift this to myself! Great giveaway! I love your wrapping tips. I have been trying to get creative with my wrapping lately. I’ve been using just kraft paper but adding brightly colored tissue paper flowers or even making confetti to “dip” my present into. It’s so fun! Here’s how I did it:

    Thank you! :)

  5. JESSICA Harrison says:

I think I might have to gift this to myself! Unfortunately, I am a horrible gift wrapper. I just spend the extra money and let the stores do it for me :)

  6. JESSICA Harrison says:

    I tweeted this giveaway!

  7. Cate says:

I would gift it to my mom (and since she lives close by, I could borrow it!!). I love wrapping gifts, but usually I’m doing it at the last second and end up grabbing a gift bag instead.

  8. Kelli says:

I have to say me. My daughter saw the necklace and said you have to get that necklace!!! Love your wrapping ideas. We are big on brown paper bag wrapping with pretty ribbon or added art work. Your ideas are wonderful.

Will tweet about this lovely give away :)

  9. Oh I would gift myself. ;) Love your gift wrapping! It’s beautiful.

  10. hope says:

I would gift it to my mom. I love to wrap gifts in scrap fabrics

  11. I have to admit I’d like this necklace for myself, too! It’s well-nigh impossible to find any jewelry for moms which could actually take EIGHT children’s birthstones, haha!

These gift wrap ideas are phenomenal. I love to wrap in tissue with a real satin bow. When I can find either of those things. :-)

  12. And I’m tweeting this, too!

  13. Melissa says:

I would gift it to meeee!!! Yarn and twine are my wrapping favs!

  14. susan says:

I would gift it to myself as well! What a gorgeous necklace! I should only be so lucky!

  15. Kirsten says:

Um, as I am so Accessorizingly Challenged I would have to gift myself. But I do love to gift wrap stuff: yesterday I spent 1.5 hrs in Michaels planning my gift wrap ‘theme’ for Christmas this year. Thinking neighbors will get kraft takeout boxes with burlap ties and tiny pine sprigs or holly sprigs.

  16. Kirsten says:

Oh, and I just tweeted it. Because that necklace is gorgeous.

  17. Amy W says:

Oh – this would make a great gift!!!

  18. Terrill says:

Not sure who I would gift it to yet. My mom isnt around to bless her with it so probably my mother in law.

  19. Nicole C says:

would totally give this to my mom!! though I really want one too:) hmmm……

  20. Traci Russell says:

I would absolutely give this to my mother in law. She loves gold and jewelry, especially unique, and would proudly wear a stone for all nine grandchildren!

  21. Kim says:

I would probably gift my sister. She is going to have her first at the start of next year. I’d probably add stones for the two she lost also.

I love wrapping gifts but admit I’ve gotten lazy and I rely on the gift bag all too often.

  22. I have to be honest, I think I’d gift it to myself. It’s a gorgeous necklace! I like it when I can match my gift wrapping with the person receiving the gift (something that reflects them – favorite color, etc).

  23. Kelly says:

I love the beautiful birthstones on these necklaces. Send it my way! XO

  24. Ashley Ann says:

I’m torn…do I gift to my MIL or myself?! :] So pretty!!
