PARENT ‘HOOD~Mama Bags with Style

056

When my babies were young, it was a Pre Etsy Era. I hunted high and low for a unique and creative diaper bag to carry. I think I ended up with something black because that was the closest thing to keeping me modern and hip. The alternatives were bags with baby prints on them…seriously?! What were manufacturers thinking? Recently, I was with a good friend, Ashleigh Baker. She was rocking a diaper bag that made me almost, swoon for a do-over. Ok, her bag and her babe! Oh my, I could have eaten him up!

Not to mention she had textures and layers spilling out all over. It caught my eye.

Today I’m not carrying diaper bags, just purses. Most days I rock a pair of jeans and boots with a few layers on top. It’s a casual look, but I am a firm believer in rocking a bag that has a little bling. Chris Ann shared a post on one of my favorite bags, my Big Buddha bag.

But, looking towards fall, I’m starting to look for a new bag to keep this mama current.

If I WERE to carry a diaper bag again, I’d love to stuff this woven tapestry and leather bag with wipes, powder and bottles.

But seeing as I DON’T carry a diaper bag any longer, I’d like  to add this little clutch to my collection.

How about you? What’s your favorite Mama Bag to carry?

  1. No mama bag here, YET, but after watching countless friends hoist stuff around, versatility seems to be the name of the game. Over the shoulder bag/backpack seems to be a good combo to me!

And girllllllll, it must have style! ; )

The perfect bag both completes an outfit perfectly and provides the performance you need for the day/ night ahead. Krstin–I love that you put big buddah in the spotlight– big buddah bags are stylish and glam at a great price point.

  3. That’s so funny — I went with black diaper bags too, especially since my husband would be carrying them. I found a hunter green one once, too. We didn’t have anything as nice as the Gussy bag! Later, I went with a backpack because it’s so practical and hands-free.

  4. Wooot! I made the show! I never found a bag I loved, really… never used diaper bags long enough with either of them that it really mattered. BIG PURSE MAMAS UNITE! I love the Gussy bag though… I can almost feel its softness through the screen.
