When I was a little girl (some 60 years ago) my grandmother always had Yifta as our dessert on Christmas. We had layers of crushed grahm crackers, home made chunky apple sauce and real whipping cream. Then grandma would sprinkle red colored sugar on top………YUM. We often still have this at our family gatherings. Not just for Christmas any more !!!!

You really need to make the whipped cream from scratch. Cool Whip is not a good substitute, in my opinion.

i’m thinking, if you froze it in molds, it could be put on a stick…hmmm…
