Help Us Grow!

We'd like to start by thanking all of our LoveFeast readers for being a part of our LoveFeast journey and community!  We began this blog over a couple of years ago over sweet potato fries and some cold beers at the Golden West Cafe in Baltimore, Maryland.  We were two best friends who after years together raising our families and building great memories with our husbands and children were now living states apart.  We had always had creative interests.  And, in that particular afternoon it all felt "possible".  We originally had … [Read more...]

The Ladies Made Empanadas

Back in January, my husband and some of our friends were in Mexico for a business trip for the company they work for.  A group of us flew in a day early to visit the same Children's Home & Community Center that Kristin, Devon, Todd and I had visited in October.  We began our visit by gathering to hear the story of how the jungle was cut back and the foundation was laid both literally and relationally with area Mexican churches who support and partner in this Center.  And, now how a squatter village community has sprung up … [Read more...]

Fancy Friday Inspiration & Quotes

Here's a sneak peak of a little bit of what we are working on behind the scenes here at LoveFeast Table! We are dreaming up our new revamped website.  The new LoveFeast Table we imagine to be more our style, more artistic, to have an online boutique, new ad space and comments threaded so we can chat with you all!  We are big believers in the art of the inspiration board.  It never hurts to have some visual imagery and some uplifting quotes to inspire you as you dream.  We think the scraps and snips and quotes help us envision … [Read more...]

Heidi’s Restaurant Minneapolis

The day after Valentine's Day, my husband and I drove into Minneapolis for an evening out at one of our favorite restaurants ~Heidi's~ reopened in a new location after a devastating fire.  It was a restaurant we brought Kristin and Devon to when they visited.  The food, the atmosphere and the company created a memory at the table not to be forgotten.  We had great memories from the previous Heidi's.  This was the first time we had been to the "new" Heidi's.  And, we thought it would be a great way to celebrate. After valet … [Read more...]

Renovating with Kids

In the midst of our renovations....when floors were coming up, beams were exposed, insulation was being laid... And, in the midst of feeling everything was out of order, and chaos had descended on our house....when I felt like nothing would ever be put away again and had re runs of The Money Pit running through my mind... There would be a moment like this... And this... That let me know it would be okay. … [Read more...]

Snorkeling In Puerto Morelos

While on our latest trip to Mexico, we took a day trip to the tiny quiet fishing village of Puerto Morelos.  This was one of my favorite day trips I have been on.  Puerto Morelos is the perfect blend of enjoying the outdoors, beautiful beach views, leisurely strolls and relaxing. Puerto Morelos is located between Cancun (about 25 minutes from) and Playa del Carmen.  The reef at Puerto Morelos is part of the 2nd largest reef system in the world and is a National Marine Park.   There are a few places that will take you … [Read more...]

Happy Valentine’s Day

We hope this day finds you happy!!  Kristin and I have a bit on our plate this morning.  Kristin is at a homeschooling co-op and I have a team of carpet layers pounding carpet into every level of the house.  Right now my living room office and dining rooms are crammed into the kitchen.  I'm surrounded by my chaos and my sofas, chairs, cabinets, and accessories.  I can't complain much though.  Because this is by choice not by flood.   So, Kristin and I are going to have depend on you all for creative inspiration today.  We hope … [Read more...]

Fancy Friday~Portobello Road in London

Getting hung up all day on smiles Walking down portobello road for miles Greeting strangers in indian boots, Yellow ties and old brown suits....Growing old is my only danger Cuckoo clocks, and plastic socks Lampshades of old antique leather Nothing looks weird, not even a beard Or the boots made out of feathers Portobello Road...I'll keep walking miles 'til I feel A broom beneath my feet Or the hawking eyes of an old stuffed bull across the street Growing old … [Read more...]

Henry VIII’s Hampton Court

Integrity...it's been a theme in my home as of late.  As parents, there are a few things we want to see stirring in our kids...  values such as honesty, kindness and patience.  We also strive to encourage them to be people of their word, hard working, and doers of what's right even if it's not the popular thing to do.  We want them to know it's about effort first then success and to honor the adults in their world...even if that adult hasn't earned respect. When in London, my brother took me to Henry the VIII's Hampton … [Read more...]

London’s Food and Pub Culture

I've only been back from London for a few days and am already going through withdraw from Pub Culture. I know we have pubs here in the states, but the culture surrounding our pubs is slightly different.  In England, there is a pub on every corner and it's typical to stop after work, meet a few mates and throw back an ale or two. The ale is delicious.  After one cold day, we wheeled the babies into The Wendel for a warm vanilla cider before heading home for dinner.  It was the perfect mid afternoon libation. The … [Read more...]
