This is my porch this week. I haven’t yet put my fall touches on it. There are some things I’ve been collecting here and there. Can you spy? There are some tall grasses tucked in and fallen over. To tell the truth I’ve gathered up some lovely “scaping” projects for this season. Some of them are tucked under my desk and some are bagged in the back of my van. They’re all projects I’ve been meaning to get to. They are all waiting to debut. Yes, I know today is Fancy Friday~Fall-scaping. But the truth is…I played hooky yesterday. So what’s a girl to do?
Yesterday instead of decorating my house for fall, I took some time out to have a lovely lunch with my Mom and Dad and my husband. Turns out my birthday is in a week but my parents took me out for lunch and surprised me with some birthday cake!
But, here is a little of what I have been working on. Do you know what these are?
They are old bobbins…with out the thread. I bought a pile to fill a red bowl I had. I added a stuffed pumpkin made out of an old quilt. I got the bobbins and the pumpkin at the Junk Bonanza that I went to last weekend.
Decorating for fall for me generally begins on my porch. To transition my porch into fall this year, I got some pots of Black Eyed Suzanne flowers. Soon, I will add tall grasses, mums and pumpkins.
The rooster that graced our table at BlogLove has now found a spot to greet our visitors.
This was my porch last year~it’s a place I like to sit, have a sip of coffee or sometimes a chat with Kristin on the phone. My touch last year was to paint my wicker ottoman hot pink.
What touches are you working on for your fancy “Fall-scaping”?
