We hope you all have a happy 4th of July and that you table is full of feasting and friends!
We know we will be spending our time with friends and family. Kristin’s family is surviving power outages due to east coast storms that toppled trees and power lines in her neighborhood. I see from our LoveFeast Twitter feed that Kristin’s family is invited over to some friends with working A/C for dinner! They have a great community for coming together! Our family has made our annual pilgrimage from suburbia to our country cousins in the wild west! Right now ribs are slow cooking in a homemade oil drum smoker, hot peppers are prepped for the grill and cabbage is simmering for a slaw for pulled pork sandwiches. It’s going to be a day of feasting alright!
I’m looking forward to sharing the stuffed grilled jalapeno peppers on the grill recipe later this summer. But for now here are a few of our LoveFeast favorite summer recipes for picnics, parties and entertaining. A lot of them are salads because they feed a group are refreshing and light in the summer and easy to transport.
Great for festive entertaining and parties is Pizza On The Grill (follow this link for more entertaining ideas and the recipe.)
This is a Colorado favorite. In fact, we had this grilled salad last night for dinner! Because we’re in Colorado sometimes we have Grilled Lettuce After A Long Trail.
Another Colorado favorite Summer Salad Recipe With Avocados.
Delicious Mediterranean Pasta Salad.
Kristin’s Peach Raspberry Pie.
The best bar. Period. Oh Henry Bars. Dig down deep to share!
No LoveFeast party is complete without a bucket of Sangria!
There will be no fireworks for us this summer in Colorado because of the wild fires. But, we know we still make memories and fun! I just finished up a dusty 4 wheel trail ride ~ time to get cleaned up and ready for the picnic!
