(photo credit to our friend and talented jewelry designer, Lisa Lehmann .) We hope you all have a happy 4th of July and that you table is full of feasting and friends! We know we will be spending our time with friends and family.  Kristin's family is surviving power outages due to east coast storms that toppled trees and power lines in her neighborhood.  I see from our LoveFeast Twitter feed that Kristin's family is invited over to some friends with working A/C for dinner!  They have a great community for coming … [Read more...]

Vintage Americana BBQ for Graduation Party

vintage basket

It's been a few weeks since I've been able to clear a path and time in my day, to my computer. My family is in a very busy season and it's times like this I'm so grateful Chris Ann and I co-blog. This morning it's quiet. I think all the running around we've been doing is actually paying off with kids sleeping in. But, I feel the home stretch coming! My oldest, is finished his senior year and off to London for the week. I had my final homeschool review on Tuesday and am now fighting the urge to just call the school year … [Read more...]

Valentine Treats To Savor With Tea

Valentine Tea feature

Taking time to savor the moment with a pot or cup of tea has always been something I have enjoyed in my day. Over the years, I have enjoyed the preparation of putting out a proper cup of tea for friends, with fancy favorite dishes and small bites. Sometimes I just pop a mug, quick in the microwave to make a single cup to enjoy by myself. My family has learned I rarely make something warm to drink without a nibble on the side. They have also learned to enjoy the nurturing moments of a warm cup and a moment to chat. The … [Read more...]

Hot Molten Lava Cakes

While Kristin was visiting a couple of weekends ago we hosted a dinner party with our husbands.  The night before we had been playing poker. (Surprised? It's actually one of our traditions when we are together!  We usually play for big stakes too -- like which family has to move to the other's state!)  After a memorable dinner served with wine we were a bit too lazy and comfortable to make a proper dessert so we pulled out the "finer" chocolate stash that I had been building from early Christmas gifts. As the cards were … [Read more...]

Holiday Sangria & Savoring The Moment

Sangria and pumpkin

I have two amazing sister-n-laws that I have made many wonderful memories with.  My Colorado sister-n-law has taken me down treacherous 4-wheeling mountain trails in the pelting rain convincing me I could survive the elements and trail.  My Chicago sister-n-law Kim, I had a chance to make different type of memory several years ago ~ a little less life threatening.  This past Thanksgiving we were remembering one of our favorite Holiday memories together. Our Holiday Sangria Memory ~ A few years ago when Kim's family was … [Read more...]

Savoring time at the table is one of the founding missions here at our virtual table, LoveFeast Table.  We believe time, conversation and friendships are enjoyed sharing a wonderful meal or morsel gathered around the table.  We have had our eyes open looking for high quality gourmet "food finds" to share with you in our LoveFeast Shop.  When this coffee cake found it's way to our tables...we knew we had found "the one" to share with you! Fancy Friday Halloween Party

OCT08_0199

Be on the look out for "Fierce Bunnies".  You never know where they might be lurking.  Every year we host a pre-trick-or-treating Halloween party.  There will be some critters and fierce bunnies lurking around our Teen Halloween Party - again this year again. My plan for this party every year, is to make it easy, relaxed, and flexible enough to add more guests as extra people stop in.  I have to have free enough time to be able to add the last bit of costume tweaking.  I do the same meal every year.  Walkin' Tacos - or … [Read more...]

Fancy Friday ~ Graduation Parties

Graduation is coming just around the corner.  For many it is a time of planning, preparation and party throwing.  Last year I seem to remember both Sandy ~ The Reluctant Entertainer and Kristen ~ High Heels And A Hammer were hosting graduation celebrations.  Kristin and I have a year or two before we throw graduation party celebrations.  Just last summer we hosted a party for 16 year old boys.  But, we are happy to gather any tips and ideas for those that have gone before us. Last May, Kristen ~ High Heels And A … [Read more...]

Fancy Friday ~ Setting A Vintage Inspired Easter Table

Easter is a wonderful celebration.  We always look forward to a relaxed day of gathering for a lovely meal around the table, Easter egg hunts and family time.  This year, I feel ahead of the game.  My Easter table has been set for a couple of days.  Once I set it to prepare for this post, I thought, why not leave it up? Spring has not completely sprung here in Minnesota, in fact, we had snow just earlier in the week.  I didn't want my table to be overly flowery or springy.  It wouldn't fit in with the not yet … [Read more...]

Tablescaping for a Skater Brother

Last fall we took a him in.  He's a good kid who had too many curve balls thrown his way.  He needed a break.  We hoped our home would be the break he needed.  Our kids quickly opened up their hearts and rooms to him and let him in.  Little Man calls him his brother.  Drama Boy calls him, "His brother from another mother." Recently he turned 18.  We helped throw a party for him.  Wanting to honor his passions without belittling him with youthful decorations, I came up with this. Throughout last year, when … [Read more...]
