Fancy Friday~What’s Your Fancy?
Posted by ChrisAnn in Fancy Friday on Aug 27th, 2010 | Comment Bubble  6 Comments »

Truly, fancy is in the eye of the beholder!!  Here at LoveFeast Table’s Fancy Friday we gather around our table to share the creativity, color, inspiration, and art that we find!!  We invite other bloggers to share their inspiration too, in a Fancy Friday Blog Party so that we all can click through, visit other blogs, so we all get to share what inspires us and makes us happy!!

This Fancy Friday was inspired by this lady.

Fancy for the Train

She was waiting at the train station in Baltimore.  She was a vision of years gone by, where ladies would “dress” for their travel.  She was accompanied by a fancy gentleman as well.

Fancy Friday Hat

Chris Ann and I began to think about what was most fancy about her, we agreed it was her hat…her hair covering.  Over the week we found a few other hair coverings we thought were pretty fancy.  We hope you enjoy our visual art gallery!

There is no right or wrong way to participate in Fancy Friday…we will post a theme…we will try and do it early in the week.  We want to see your spin on that theme!  We want to see what pictures,  poems,  song lyrics or a combo of all the above that reflects that theme!  Don’t be afraid to participate!  ‘Cause we know, there’s a little fancy in everyone of us!!

Fancy Friday Shoes
Posted by ChrisAnn in Fancy Friday on Aug 12th, 2010 | Comment Bubble  11 Comments »

DSC_0044

CA:  Kristin~Let’s start with these heels…because like, we were heels…hahaha…and missed our Fancy Friday last week while we were at BlogHer10.

K:  Ok, I know lets find a quote about putting your best foot forward.

CA:  Whoops I just did a typo and said putting your best food forward.  So what kind of blog are we any way?

K:  Wasn’t that the million dollar question at BlogHer10?

CA:  True that.  Wait.  Let’s not get off topic..who’s shoes are these?

DSC_0036

K:  These blue shoes are Rebecca’s, from Bunch Family.  Those are cute.  The next one was from the Kirkland rep…but I can’t find her card.

DSC_0029

CA:  Cute pedi…way to rock the bling!  By the way I think it was a genius way to introduce ourselves at BlogHer…Hi We are the LoveFeast Table gals…we like your shoes…who are you?  It was kind of a fun opener…and it led us to these shoes…

K:  Remember these?

DSC_0023

CA:  Trying to forget…they were a little bit scary.

K:  And do you remember these awesome wedges?  These were Target shoes….and they were awesome!

DSC_0021

CA:  Yes, and even more awesome was that they belonged to another Minnesota blogger we had never met, Catherine, from Zipbag of Bones.

K:  Hey this is our one night roomie from Baby To Be TV, Linda.  This was a test shot…

DSC_0018

K:  Hey this was some chick from the People’s Party…remember this?  This was small talk girl.

DSC_0012

And, the boots were from Nordstroms…that much we remember.

DSC_0006

CA:  So what’s our conclusion?

K:  We don’t have any other shoe pictures..do we?

CA:  Yes, we have Laura’s (Hollywood Housewife)…cute pumps!

DSC_0079

CA:  What’s our parting words to Fancy Friday peeps?

K:  “When we put our best foot forward the other one had better be good enough to stand on”…

CA:  Is that our quote?

K:  Yah, that’s the one I found.

CA:  Who wrote it?

K:  Cullen Hightower.  Somehow it seems appropriate for this Fancy Friday post that keeps going on and on.

CA:  Totes…Let’s end it…because like…some Fridays we just need a little help from our friends…like these Fancy bloggers who posted last week while we were at BlogHer.

Jennifer, Grow With Graces

Denise, Pertaining To Motherhood

Tiffany, Stop Doing That

Fancy Peeps…this week..what’s Fancy about your shoes?  And more importantly what keeps you moving forward?

Cause some times you just have to keep moving forward…even when your not feeling fancy!

Fancy Friday Earrings
Posted by ChrisAnn in Fancy Friday on Aug 1st, 2010 | Comment Bubble  3 Comments »

DSC_0228

We’re glad you’ve stopped to visit…cause we’re sharing our earrings for Fancy Friday!

DSC_0221

Many of my earring share a story.  These are from my trip to Santa Fe with my husband last year.

DSC_0230

Kristin got me these one year for my birthday along with a little note that said, “Every girl should have something with a cameo!”

DSC_0231

These yellow ones are my latest faves from Urban Outfitters.

DSC_0226

These have special powers.  Special Powers to make me feel happy.

DSC_0225

Another pair from Kristin.  They were from a street market in Baltimore.  They were part of my “going home (to Minnesota) in a minivan with too many kids” gift, several years ago.  Kristin understands that a powerful earring can help you do anything.

DSC_0220

These earrings I bought on the street in New York City.  I’m sure they’ll be packed in my bag when I head back there next week for BlogHer 10.

Fancy Friday Purses
Posted by ChrisAnn in Fancy Friday on Jul 23rd, 2010 | Comment Bubble  6 Comments »

Every Friday we like to cover what we feel is fancy on our Fancy Friday posts!  And, we invite you to join the conversation by commenting or by grabbing our badge and linking your Fancy Friday post on whatever that particular week’s theme is at the bottom of our Fancy Friday post!  This Friday the theme is purses!

DSC_0241

We got our inspiration this week from Devra, who we met at Momz Share.  She is the co-author of Parentopia, and her latest post is called, “What’s In Your Purse?  What’s In Your Man Bag?“  Well, this is what’s in my big purple purse.  A smaller purse.  It’s my little black purse.  Just like the little black dress, every girl should have one.  It’s handy.

DSC_0245

And, inside it is my wallet.  My wallet was a bit of a treat.  I got it with some birthday money my parent’s gave me.  It’s little, but sooo functional.  It’s the best thing I ever did in the wallet department.  It’s both dressy and casual and the gray quilting makes me happy.

DSC_0251

Along with the wallet and the small black purse, there are some other things.  Through Devra’s post we learned that Allison, from Petite Elephant is actually doing a series about the insides of purses called “What’s In Your Purse Right Now?“   This is what was in the bottom of mine:  My business card, receipts, change, a Storables credit card, a pen, my checkbook, Orbit bubble mint gum and gum wrappers, Bobbi Brown concealer, hairbands and pins, and my wallet.

DSC_0250

But I digress…this post is really suppose to be about the purses!  So here is a rundown of some of my favorites.  I have others I have to admit and probably should do some closet cleaning like Ree.  But, until then here are some that I can’t part with yet:

This is not this summer’s, but last summer’s white bag.  I like it cause it’s not to cute or prissy for a white bag.

DSC_0264

There probably will never be a good time to get rid of this old Louis Vuitton that I got at a second-hand store in Maryland.  It’s been used and abused and that’s why I love it.  It’s not too precious.  Even though it’s a Louis.

DSC_0283

This ones a keeper.  Kristin brought it back from her world-wide travels.  It’s very light weight, structured, and sturdy.  I think she got it at a market in the Philippines.

DSC_0279

This is a bag I pack in my suitcase when I go on vacation.  It’s a happy evening bag that I think goes with anything because it’s happy.

DSC_0274

This is a slouchy bag I got in London.  I love it.  It’s vibrant and artsy.

DSC_0272

This Italian black purse is perfect for New York City.  It’s from Century 21 one of my fav’ NYC shopping meccas.

DSC_0266

This bag I got in Italy.  Kristin and I both got great soft leather bags at the market in Florence.

DSC_0268

Even though I bring back leather purses when I go to Italy…truth be told I tote this around while I’m there.  It’s light, durable, and can handle both my camera and a travel book.

DSC_0260

It’s also safety orange so if I get lost in a crowd you can find me.

DSCF6300

And, this “last-but-not-least” purse is my last year’s “fall-through-winter” purse.  It’s fate is yet unknown.  Do you think it can go another season?  Is it too “TJMaxx-so-last-year”?  Is the slow-fade look still in?  Is there another word for the slow-fade look?  If you’re a fashionista…do chime in!  Hollywood, Hollywood are you there?  Please chime in!  I need advice.  Quick!  BlogHer ’10 is almost here!

DSC_0254

What’s the story behind your bags?  Do tell!

Fancy Friday Antiques
Posted by ChrisAnn in Fancy Friday on Jul 16th, 2010 | Comment Bubble  3 Comments »

DSC_0070

Fancy Friday Antiques is here!  It’s time to share our well worn treasures!!  Many of us like antiques and vintage things because something old often has a story that goes with it.   Something old has been loved, worn, survived, and aged with a patina that shows it has lived a well used life.  These are some of my aged and well-loved things in my home and some of their stories.

This picture is of my husband’s Great Grandfather.  He was a missionary and a minister.  This picture is dated:  New York 1905.  It is often a conversation piece with guests to our home and we enjoy it because then we get to share a bit of our family’s history and story with them.

DSC_0261

These tarnished serving pieces were used by my husband’s Great Grandfather for communion.  The picture behind use to hang in my Grandma Bessie’s kitchen.  The same Grandma Bessie that made Banana Bread in and old coffee can.  It is a dinner prayer in Norwegian.

DSC_0199

These are some of the dishes I remember my grandmother used.

DSC_0181

DSC_0244

This is an old and repaired ironstone tourine that Kristin gave me for my birthday one year.  I love its clean smooth lines.

DSC_0096

These are my stack of dishes in an old shabby chic cabinet my Dad bought for me when I was about to have my first baby.  I was way over due and we needed things to do.  I was nesting.

DSC_0182

And, that tassel.  It’s new.  But, I bought one for Kristin years ago and one hangs in her house too.  Maybe some day it will be a little faded and someone will wonder where it hung.  Well mine hangs here.  Kristin hangs…at least last time I was at her house…on a curtain at her window.

This is Kristin’s china.  It has a story.

DSC_0241

And, now that story continues.  The china is boxed up and ready to be taken back.

DSC_0237

Someday it may be a part of her story.

June-2008-160

And, that’s what’s so wonderful about antiques.  They have lived a long life, mingled around us, shared in our moments and touched our lives and continue to carry a story…like these green antique school house chairs.  My Dad painted them green.  They use to have funky electric blue cushions.  It was the 60′s.  Now they are in my home and making new moments in our lives.

May2008-146

What’s the story of your antiques?

Fancy Friday Frontiers

“The pioneers gave up their safety, their comfort, and sometimes their
lives to build our new west. They were determined to make the new world
strong and free – an example to the world. Some would say that those
struggles are all over. That all the horizons have been explored. That
all the battles have been won. That there is no longer an American
frontier. And we stand today on the edge of a new frontier.

Fancy Friday #BlogLove™
Posted by Kristin in Fancy Friday on Jun 25th, 2010 | Comment Bubble  2 Comments »

Last Night we hosted our first BlogLove™ Event! In honor of that, today, we want to feature some of the blogs that we love…that inspire us…that are total eye candy…or just plain make us happy!

BlogLove

The necklace above was made by The Vintage Pearl for our BlogLove event! Erin’s blog is taking a turn as she  embarks on an exciting, new adventure…

Desperately Seeking Silence is a momma who has a great view of the world and we’re happy she’s back and preggers!

Here’s a great “habit” to get into!  We love checking in with Habit to see what happenings get captured in the lives of two bloggers, Emily and Molly and their guests such as Kyrie, who have a habit of capturing life’s simple moments.

Kelli Murray is a talented, fun artist.  She has a great eye for fashion and urban design.  Elegant with a shot of edgy.  That’s why we’re so psyched she designed a logo for us!! (More on that later!!)

Me And Alice & Bralliz.  They’re mother and daughter with great personal style.  They have an eye for decor and an eye for fashion.  They have a way of taking us down the creative road of inspiration.

Now, we’ve been fans of Joy The Baker for awhile but, we are really big fans of On The Lamb.  On The Lamb is an out of the box event planning troupe by Joy and a couple of her friends.  Their parties are our kind of parties! They have impeccable attention to detail, create amazing menus and find the most unique venues. But most of all, their parties are savored and enjoyed around the table with friends!

Honey & Jam is a scrumptious foodie blog.  Her photos are feast for the eyes!

And, though billions of people read her, we have to add Grace, of Design Sponge.  We live vicariously through her!  Always classy and smart.  Design Sponge is a great place to absorb the next good idea….like this chair from Making Pretty!

These are some of the blogs that we are enjoying!  We’d love to see what blogs you love!  If you blog join the fun and add the link to the post you write on your favorite blog.  Or, add a comment about your favorite blogs!  Let’s share our #BlogLove!
